About Nalu.

Aloha, I’m Stefan Wagner.

For over 30 years, I’ve been deeply involved in the world of finance—working at the intersection of banking, asset management, and fintech.

I’ve led global teams, managed billions in client assets, and helped organisations embrace transformation during some of the industry’s most challenging shifts.

Beyond my corporate career, I have founded and led ventures in asset management, including developing a Luxembourg fund platform that enabled others to create and manage their own funds, expanding access to innovative investment opportunities. I also managed my own investment funds, specialising in risk arbitrage strategies and value investing using derivatives.

Today, I remain actively involved in the investment landscape, focusing on early-stage fintech companies and supporting the next wave of financial innovation.

I founded Nalu Finance, a podcast and hub for professionals who want more than surface-level chatter. Through Nalu, I connect ambitious finance leaders with expert insights, real-world strategies, and the people shaping the future of our industry.

I also host the Falco Investment Podcast and the vestr Securitization Podcast. These platforms allow me to dive even deeper into specific topics, connect the dots between experts, and foster the kinds of conversations that rarely happen in public.

I help connect investors, institutions, and innovators—to facilitate insights, relationships, and forward-thinking solutions.

If you’re here, chances are you care about staying informed, making smarter decisions, and pushing the industry forward. I do too.

Why Nalu?

In Hawaii, the term ‘Nalu’ refers to the waves of the ocean.

It’s often associated with surfing and the pursuit of catching “the perfect wave.” As a
keen surfer, this resonates deeply, but the meaning goes even further.

The wave represents opportunityand your ability to capitalise on it.

Catching the perfect wave requires preparation, patience, and a willingness to put
yourself out there. You can’t predict when it will come, but when it does, you must be
ready to seize it.

That idea has become my guiding philosophy in life and business:

Stay prepared, present, and curious—and always be ready to catch the next wave.
